FREETOWN CHURCH BUILDING FOUNDATION STONE LAID.
Apostle
Nicholas Appia-Missah has on the Friday 21st of August, 2015
conducted a ceremony to lay the foundation stone of the Freetown Church
building in the Konongo District.
Apostle
Nicholas Appia-Missah during the occasion said, there seem to be no bigger
place to hold prayer meetings and retreats in the area and that is why it has
become more important to give some level of attention to the building project.
The three
day prayer which ended with the foundation stone ceremony was under the theme,
“The glorious Church” taken from Ephessians5:22-28, Apostle indicated how
Christ is preparing His bride which is His church. “At Christ second coming,
His Church would be without spot or wrinkle”. He said the kind of preparation
Christ is taking His Church through has its type in the Old Testament. He
quoted from Esther 2:5-18 and showed how customarily, the bride undergoes
beauty therapy for several months before she appeared before the king. Apostle
Nicholas intimated that Esther who was not a native of Shushan kingdom under
the reign of King Ahasuerus was chosen above all her peers. “What gives me
greater joy is that we were gentiles like Esther, yet Christ has chosen us as
well for His kingdom” He said.
Apostle charged all Christians to live worthy
of their calling by allowing the word of God to dwell in them richly by
consistent study and practice.
According
to Pastor Timothy Affum Adipah; the district pastor of Konongo District, the construction
of the church building started in the year 2013 just after the creation of the
Konongo Area. Work on the auditorium is about thirty-five percent completed.
The church
building when completed would have a seating capacity of 3000 people.
Other
speakers of the programme included Pastors Timothy Affum Adipah, Paul Asante, Joseph
Aubin and Elder Sampson Yeboah who is the Area Deacon.
Apostle
Nicholas Appiah-Missa laid the foundation stone to end the programme.
